The Reception children have been busy this week inside and out creating their own potions. Outside the children have been using Jellibath, coloured water, pumpkin seeds and spiders. The children used spoons and pipettes to add the ingredients to their potions. This worked on their fine motor skills as they carefully combined the mixtures.
The children worked collaboratively to make their potions, demonstrating great reciprocity. They discussed their ingredients and what their spell would do if someone drunk it. It was a fantastic experience for the children to use their imagination and communicate this to others.
Alex" I've got three pumpkin seeds, one spider and two conkers.
Bernardo "Making spider fishes."
Thea"Sticky, slimey."
Victoria "If you throw it at someone, it makes them go really small."
Harvey "It's a T-Rex potion."
