Can Parents please bring in a CUP, Wellington boots and a drawstring bag with spare clothes by next week. Please LABEL all your children's belongings, including both shoes. Please ensure your child knows what their cup and wellies look like.

Stay and play
This week the children had their first stay and play sessions at nursery. It was an opportunity to explore their new nursery environment, play with their new teachers and find out about the nursery routines. The children were very excited to see all the toys, play with the activities and engage with the free flow access to the garden.

Stay and Play
Next week it is the Stay and Play settling in sessions!
Parents may wish to drop children at the door or settle them inside, then leave if they wish.
Here are the dates and times for the different sessions:
AM sessions for 2 year olds and 15 hour children:
PM Sessions for 2 year olds and 15 hour children:
30 hour Children's Sessions:
Session Routine:
1. Stand on a coloured spot and wait to be called forward by Mrs Luca who will tick you off the register and give you a coloured sticker name label.
2. Your child may feel confident to leave you at the nursery door. If so please say goodbye and reassure them you will be back to collect them at the end of the session. You may wish to come inside and ensure your your child is settled before leaving them. Please ensure when you are leaving you inform your child you are leaving and will be back to collect them at the end of the session. If you feel your child is not ready for you to leave, you may come inside. We ask for you to take a step back in one place so your child can explore the environment. This way your child can develop relationships with their teachers whilst knowing where you are and return to you for reassurance when required. Please speak to your child before you come in about the nursery in a positive way and that eventually they will stay and play with their friends and you will always come back to collect them so your children know where you are and feel safe during the session, whilst having fun.
3. 15 minutes before the end of the session the teachers will raise their hand to signal that we must all stop, raise your hand and wait to listen to what the teacher has to say. If someone hasn't noticed the hand signal you can tap them on the shoulder using gestures only and no speaking. It will then be tidy up time.
4. When tidy up time ends, your child will go to an area of the classroom to sing a song with a key worker; please stand aside quietly if you have decided to stay..
5. At the end of the session, the main doors will open so that all parents can rejoin their child; please wait for the practitioner to dismiss your child before leaving.
We cannot wait to see you all!
