Welcome to the weekly Nursery Blog!

Parent Meetings

This week parents and carers had a meeting with a nursery practitioner. It was an opportunity to verify important information about their child, meet the staff if they were new to the school, find out about the nursery routines and ask any questions they may have had. The 3 and 4 year olds drew a picture of themselves which will be on display in the nursery next week. The two year olds had an opportunity to choose from a variety of small activities, either a photo or their work will also be displayed.

Here are just a few examples of some of the children's proud work!

(Doors open from 12:50pm

30 hour Children's Sessions:

17/09/2021

9-10am

(Doors open from 9:50am)

Session Routine:

1. Stand on a coloured spot and wait to be called forward by Mrs Luca who will tick you off the register and give you a coloured sticker name label.

2. Go into the nursery and have a look around the inside and outside area with your child; visit the toilets with your child so they know where they are and feel safe to use them during the session; most of all have fun and join in with the play! Parent and carers may want to stand to the side during the session if their child is confident to play alone. Remind your child to tidy things away before they move onto the next activity/ game.

3. At 9:15am the teachers will raise their hand to signal that we must all stop, raise our hand and wait to listen to what the teacher has to say. If someone hasn't noticed the hand signal you can tap them on the shoulder using gestures only and no speaking. It will then be tidy up time.

4. When tidy up time ends, your child will go to an area of the classroom to sing a song with a key worker; you can join them for this or stand aside quietly.

5. At the end of the session, the main doors will open so that all parents can rejoin their child; please wait for the practitioner to dismiss your child before leaving.

We cannot wait to see you all!
