I think my child needs additional support?
Some children will require support that is additional to, or different from, that received by children of the same age to ensure they benefit from education. This may be due to disability or health, learning environment, family circumstances or social and emotional factors, where a referral for additional support may benefit a child’s learning.
What is SPA and how do we help our community?
SPA is the Single Point of Access for Havering, supporting Health and Mental Health service referrals. We are a one stop service providing advice from Health Visiting, School Nursing, Mental health support and Transitions within school for children aged 0-19 years old.
You can access these services via the Single Point of Access (SPA):

What support can I access?:
Health Visitors
Health visitors work closely with young children and their families, alongside other support services to ensure children's health needs are met and they have a safe environment to live. We help support the health and wellbeing of your whole family through early intervention and prevention strategies, as well as promoting physical and social wellbeing from birth to five years old.
School Nurse
The school nursing team provides a public health service focusing on promoting the Mental, Physical, Social and Emotional wellbeing of all school-age children, working in partnership with other professionals and agencies such as Schools and Health Visitors.
The school nursing team offers support and advice on a multitude of health-related topics such as; Healthy living, lifestyles, and relationships.

Havering child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS)
Havering CAMHS offers help to families with children & young people from birth to their 18th birthday who are experiencing emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties. We are a multi-disciplinary team based in Havering and offer support in a variety of areas such as assessment of development problems, autism, hyperactivity, depression, and early onset psychosis. We help children and families during difficult times in order to support a family’s ability to cope with difficult emotions or behaviour.
