I am a Havering resident, who can help me with employment opportunities?

Whilst at home, where can I access free online courses?

Havering Adult College:

For over 50 years, Havering Adult College has been bringing a range of diverse opportunities to the residents of Havering (and beyond), and this year is no different as they move to remote learning.

Find a course here.

Havering Colleges, Distance Learning:

A range of free 10-12 week online courses, which are both career and life enhancing, are offered to anyone aged 19 and over. The qualifications gained are accredited at Level 2 and are instantly recognisable by employers.

Visit the website here and follow the distance learning link.

Learning Curve:

Whatever your ambitions, start fulfilling them by taking your next step with a Learning Curve course. Learners may be eligible for funding (the learner must live in England and be over 19 years old) which means the course won’t cost a thing to complete.

I have completed two Level 2 courses for free through Learning Curve, it was simple to register and I enjoyed completing the courses in my own time at home. I completed the ‘Counselling Skills’ and ‘Awareness of Mental Health Problems’ courses which I now have certificates for and include on my CV,” Miss Cumming.

Who can I speak to about volunteering opportunities in Havering?

The Havering Volunteer Centre is a local charity that will help you find the perfect volunteering opportunity.

If you are interested to volunteer at Broadford Primary School, contact: volunteer@broadford.havering.sch.uk

How can I help the NHS during Covid-19?

NHS Responder volunteers help people:

  • avoid busy places by collecting their shopping, medicines and other important items

  • have regular contact with other people by making regular friendly phone calls

  • get to medical appointments by giving lifts
