Reminders and key dates:
- The Reception Christmas Concert will be on the 7th December at 9.15am and 2pm. Tickets were given out on Friday.
- Christmas Jumper Day - 8th December
- Christmas Dinner - 13th December
- Lapland day - 15th December
- Christmas Party - 18th December
Topic:
This week we have been learning about the importance of Diwali in the Hindu religion. We read the story of Rama and Sita and discussed how Hindu people celebrate Diwali. We practised our language and communication skills by retelling the story with puppets. Children had the opportunity to create their own Diya lamp and practised skills of moulding carving and painting.
At the end of the week, we had our own Diwali celebrations trying some naan bread and learning a Diwali song and dance.
We are also working hard on our Christmas concert rehearsals and hope to see you all there in a couple of weeks!
Maths:
In maths, we expanded our number knowledge to 4 and 5 by practising finding, representing and counting these numbers quickly.
