Parent notices

The nursery team would like to remind parents:
Please leave a bag with a spare set of clothing at nursery. This bag should be a labelled drawstring bag or a carier bag.
As we do not have space for rucksacks, from January childrens rucksacks will be returned and belongings placed in a carrier bag. Rucksacks take up space on pegs making it challenging for the children to access their belongings.

We would also like to remind parents toys from home are not allowed in the nursery. They can be dangerous, cause incidents over sharing and the children become very upset when they get lost or damaged.

Thank you for your understanding

We polietly ask if children have recieved nursery clothing can they please be returned washed back to the nursery after the holidays. Thank you

This week we have sent home the childrens sunflowers planted at nursery. We would love to see how the children are caring for their flowers and recieve pictures via the nursey email of the sunflowers progress. Please send photographs to:

Story of the week

This week the children have been listening to our story of the week, We’re going on an egg hunt. The children loved the idea of search for eggs in the story and were super excited to find out they will be taking part in an Easter egg hunt at nursery too.

Fun with numbers

The children have been having fun matching numerals to pictures of chicks. counting and correcting their matches as they go along up to number ten.

Outdoor fun

The children have enjoyed planting seeds so much, we decided to plant the rest of our sunflower seeds in the nursery flower bed. With some amazing helpers we dug an raked the soil, planted our sunflower seeds and made sure to water the seeds to help them grow. The children are very excited to see how much the seeds will grow when they come back from the Easter holidays, with some children believing the seeds will grow into flowers as big as them during the two week break.

With the lovely sun shining down the children have had lots of fun playing with our new bubble machine, kindly donated to nursery by our Mid day assistant Ms Stef. The children have loved chasing and popping bubbles all over the garden. Thank you Ms Stef for our lovely gift.

Creative play

The children had lots of fun using our Easter theme this week during their play. We made creative patterns in playdough and used the playdough to make our own easter eggs.

This week the children have been practicing their cutting skills in the art area. We have been trying to use the correct hand formation to hold scissors, make snips in paper and for those who can, cut complicated patterns using scissors.

We have a special finger gym tray to develop our fine motor movements at nursery. This week the children have been attempting the thread and knot ribbon to hand easter eggs .

The children have absolutley loved our themed tray this week with our hollow easter eggs. The children have been adding different resources to the eggs and asking others to guess whats inside by the sound it makes. The children developed this listening game all on their own. We are so clever at nursery, we can create our own games. They have placed lego, playdough, lentils and pasta inside when playing their game.

Easter Bonnets

The children loved wearing the easter bonnets they made at home with their families. We paraded our bonnets around the school hall to music and had lots of fun discussing our hats and how we made them. Wow! they all looked amazing.

Congradulations to our Nursery bonnet winners: Billie, Adelynn, Matei and Patrick.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had so much fun during our Easter egg hunt based in the Reception playground. The children were great at answering the clues to find the easter eggs and loved playing on the Reception play equipment. But best of all they loved eating their Easter eggs.
The children had so much fun in the Reception playground, they were super excited to transition to reception to play there everyday and as always the big slide was a super hit.

We hope you had an amazing Spring term and nursery and look forward to having more fun after the Easter holidays. See you all on Tuesday 16th April 2024.
Have a lovely holiday.
