Important information

Warm weather request:

We politely request can all parents please apply sun cream to children before arriving at school and to provide a suitable sunhat, labelled with your childs name. During hot weather please ensure your child wears suitable clothing to avoid sun burn, the children will continue to have access to the nursery outdoor facilities.

Nursery stay and play: 

The summer term nursery stay and play will take place on Wednesday 12th June             

(Am and PM session times to follow)

Holiday dates (School and Nursery closed): 

Half term; Monday 27th to Friday 31st May 2024

Last day of summer term; Tuesday 23rd July 2024 

School inset dates; 24th July 2024 

Story of the week

This week the children have been listening to the story 'The very busy spider'. 

Learning this week:

This week the children have continued their focus learning on minibeasts. We have been learning names of insects and all about their habitats and food they like to eat.

Introduction to phonics

The children have enjoyed their second week of read write inc. They have been introduced to the first set of letters, as well as learning the matching sounds and rhymes.

During the summer term we will be focusing on supporting the children to write their names. We have been practicing our pencil holds and correct letter formations.

Creative play

The children have been using their imaginations to develop their play in different ways. From using a variety of materials to create small world play or using messy play resources within their role play games. The children have been very creative when using the nursery resources to develop play with their friends.

Outdoor learning

The children have had lots of fun this week enjoying their outdoor play in the sunshine. A favourite activity was the carwash. The children spent a long time washing a variety of resources in the water trays.
