Reception Learning - W.C 2.3.26

Year Reception: What We Are Learning

Reception have been working really hard this week. Our focus was Whatever Next!

Here is what we have been up to: We have learned the history of space travel, discussed planets and did a science experiment where we used coke and mentos to create a rapid, high-pressure, physical foam eruption.

The children have also been working hard in Read, Write, Inc this week. In Literacy, we wrote items we would need to pack if we travelled to the moon such as food, drinks, toys and clothes. Please continue to read 5 times a week with your children and work on set 1 sounds as well as word time words (1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc).

In Maths this week the children have been looking at different ways to build 9 and 10. We counted and collected a range of items to show we know how to make 9 and 10!

World Book Day!

This week we celebrated World Book Day. This year’s theme was "Go All In". This initiative encourages children to dive deeper into their passions—like sports, gaming, or animals—by choosing books that match their interests, making reading fun, accessible, and engaging. Children were invited to come into school in either their favourite character costume or their snuggliest pyjamas. We participated in a range of activities including making bookmarks and designing a book cover.

Well done Reception for an amazing week - keep up all your brilliant work!
