Nursery Newsletter 5.2.18

Term: Spring 1                     Date: 5.2.18

Dear Parent/Carer,

The children really enjoyed the fairytale theatre experience last week and showed they had really listened to the stories we have shared as they were able to join in with the key phrases and answer questions. This week we are focusing on 'The Three Little Pigs.' The children have a trip to jump evolution trampoline park to look forward to this week; morning children will attend on Wednesday morning and afternoon children Monday afternoon. If your child has socks from previous jump evolution visits please ensure they wear them on the day.

Reminder: We are closed for an inset on Friday. Half term week begins on 13.2.18.

These are the skills we will be focusing on this week:

Mathematics
We are continuing to explore the resources introduced on number day including creating shapes with spaghetti and marshmallows and number bingo.

Physical

The children will have their PE session at Jump evolution this week.

Literacy 

The children have lots of props available for them to create their own fairytale puppets and talk about characters in stories.
In our letters and sounds the children will have key pictures for them to talk about and create their own stories.

Workshop/Creative
Continuing to explore printing using different sized Lego blocks for the three pigs houses.

Communication and Language

Encouraging children to use simple sentences correctly.

Encouraging children to hold a conversation and respond to comments.

Personal and Social Development

Ensuring children are able to co-operate with routines and some boundaries.

Modelling the correct behaviours in play, ensuring children use resources well and begin to share with other children.
