        RECEPTION LEARNING - SUMMER 2 WEEK 3

Maths

In maths this week we have be learning about Odd and Even Numbers to 10. The children learnt that Odd numbers include 1,3,5,7,9 and Even numbers include 2,4,6,8,10.

This weeks activity involved the children separating numicon pieces into Odd and Even columns. It was super tricky to remember all of them but we did a great job! 

Vikhyat-"Look at all the odds and evens"

Joshua- "3 is odd"

Noah- “5 is odd” 

Millen-“ 3 is odd and 6 is even” 

Noah 'These are the odd and these are the even ones'

Zofia "I know six is an even number"

Literacy   

This week we started reading The Gruffalo. The Gruffalo is a rhyming story about a clever little mouse and a monster. When mouse goes for a walk in a dangerous forest, he invents tales of a fantastic creature called a Gruffalo to scare off his enemies. He gets a real surprise when he meets a Gruffalo! We also learnt a song about the GGGRRRRRRRUFFALO!

Our literacy activity involved us drawing our favourite character from the book and then saying why they were our favourite. We loved the Gruffalos orange eyes, purple prickly back, green poisonous wart on his nose and much more. We are doing such a great job at trying to write sentences all by ourselves. 

Lochlan- "He is brown"

Eliza- "I like the mouse"

Miya- “The Gruffalo is scary” 

Subhan- “He has orange eyes” 

        

Danni-Ella "I love the Gruffalo"
