RECEPTION LEARNING - SUMMER 2 WEEK 4
Maths
This week in math, we have been consolidating our addition and subtraction skills. We have been ensuring we use the correct mathematical vocabulary and that we understand what what to do with each of the processes. To support the children with solving the number problems they used ten frames and counters and then wrote then number sentence on a white board.
Great work from everyone!
Literacy
This week we have continued with reading The Gruffalo. This week we thought about the different habitats of the animals and that kinds of food they may eat!
Listen to the story here; Gruffalo Story
Gruffalo song; Gruffalo Song
Our literacy activity involved the children writing a postcard about their journey through the first. All the children are working incredibly hard using their phonic skills to read and write their own postcards!
Alfie 'The mouse is actually really clever, he pretends to the
Gruffalo that he is the scariest in the forest"
Elsie- "Dear Mum I had a good day love mouse"
Hayden- "Look at my mouse he is so cute"
Broadford Basketball
You may have seen that Reception have a new basket ball net in the outside area. It's been the talk of the town! The children have been super excited from seeing it being installed to lining up for their first go. Miss Mullan has been teaching some of children to slam dunk and how to bounce and dribble the ball
Bernice " Woah, I nearly got it in"
Tommy 'Watch I'm going slam dunk it '
