Thank you to parents and carers who were able to attend the Stay and Learn session this week. The children had lots of fun exploring our story of the week 'Jack and the Beanstalk' in the environment.
Here are some tips on how to support your child with their communication and language at home:
Singing and Stories are a great way to build vocabulary and understanding. Sharing picture books and reading out loud has many benefits:
Special time that helps parents and children to bond.
Helps children to build pictures in their mind.
Allows children to learn new vocabulary.
Teaches them to think about the characters in the story and describe their feelings.
Supports them to follow a plot and sequence events.
Helps children to appreciate rhythm and rhyme.
Parents/Carers are very welcome to borrow books from our reading cart, they are changed if you place them in the black boxes by the entrance. We just ask that you treat them carefully and return them when finished.
