Nursery Weekly Newsletter

Term: Spring 2 Date 10.03.14

We had a terrific week last week. The children expressed an interest in Jungle Animals so we kick started the new mini- topic. There are some photos of a suspicious looking Leopard on the Facebook page. Also Mrs Chisholm worked really hard with the children to create our very own Jungle. The children have loved role playing in the jungle and it has been an amazing tool to develop their communication and language skills.

The story for the week is, 'Rumble in the Jungle' and the songs are, 'Five Little Monkeys jumping on the bed' and 'Down in the Jungle where nobody goes'.

Down in the jungle

Where nobody goes

There's a great big gorilla

Washing his clothes

With a rub-a-dub here

A rub-a-dub there

That's the way he washes his clothes

Diddle-I-Dee, a boogie boogie woogie

Diddle-I-Dee, a boogie boogie woogie

Diddle-I-Dee, a boogie boogie woogie

That's the way he washes his clothes

Repeat with …

There's a slithery snake

There's a great big crocodile

There's a great big elephant

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed

One fell off and bumped his head

Mama called the doctor,

And the doctor said

No more monkeys jumping on the bed

Repeat with …

Four, Three, Two and One
