Star Reader Shajia

Shajia is the first pupil in Aspen to get a certificate for reading 10 books. She has spent time learning the key characters name which can be found in the front of her reading record. Her parents have also recorded her reading in her reading record, so that we know when she has read at home. Shajia is great at looking the pictures and talking about them.

Reading at home is vital if your child is to become a confident and fluid reader. It is important your child continues to practice the skills they have learnt in school at home. Another great way to foster your child’s love for reading and extend their vocabulary is to share bedtime stories with your child.
