One of Reception's experiences for the year is to sing songs around a campfire. Of course you cannot have a campfire without some toasted marshmallows! Before heading down on Thursday the Reception children discussed how to stay safe around the campfire. The children followed the rules and listened closely to instructions. It was a little windy so we all experienced smoke in the eyes as we toasted our marshmallows. The marshmallows were a hit with most of the children and there was definitely some sticky fingers and faces afterwards. The children enjoyed singing a few of their favourite songs including Tiny Tim, We went to the Animal Fair and of course Campfire's Burning!
Campfire's burning, campfire's burning.
Draw nearer, draw nearer.
In the glowing, in the glowing.
Come sing and be merry.
"The smoke is stinging my eyes, it keeps blowing this way." Tele
"Can we have another one please?" Isaac
"It's really sticky!" Varvara
