April 2021 Update
Throughout the pandemic, children’s centres have continued to remain open for midwife, antenatal and postnatal appointments and for families who have needed to access one to one support in person. Government guidelines for COVID19 meant we were unable to deliver our usual groups on site but knew it was crucial that they stayed in contact with our families and offered as much support as possible, which included virtual activity sessions, online parenting classes and workshops.
As government measures begin to ease this allows for parent and child groups to take place outdoors from 29th March and indoors from the 12th April. We are reviewing all necessary risk assessments so they can focus on ensuring everyone’s safety at all times.
From the 4th of May, they will start buggy walks and outdoor stay & play sessions and limited baby groups and baby massage classes within the children’s centres. These sessions will be by invite or pre-booked appointments so they can manage numbers and keep to social distancing guidelines.
Details of the activities and how to book will be available on this page from Friday 23rd April 2021. Please only attend a children’s centre for a group if you have a pre booked space. Their virtual programme will run as normal for anyone to attend.
If you require any advice, support or guidance on child development, infant feeding, healthy start applications and much more please call 07812 496901 to speak to an early years practitioner or e-mail childrenscentres@havering.gov.uk
