Recognise the number 15 and different representations of 15.  Look at the Number 15.

Ten Town Number Formation


Practise counting with your big person from different starting points e.g. 1,2 3,4, 5,6 7,8.

1,23, 4,56, 7,8,9

3,4,5,6, 7,8,9,10.

Can you show your big person 5 on your fingers and now 2 more? How many fingers now? How do you know there are 7? Repeat with different amounts.

Go through the first, then, now maths stories and Adding sums.

Using a number track and die roll the die and count on as you move along the track. Play with your big person. The first to reach 10 wins.

Count out 5 cubes. Cover the cubes and then place 2 more cubes underneath the cloth. Can you tell your big person how many there are now? Can you represent the cubes with your fingers and model counting on 5...6,7. You could use whiteboards to record the number sentences. Repeat with different amounts. Go through the questions on Adding

Read the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar and go through the Vocab Slides.

Go on a hunt for caterpillars in your outside area or during your daily walk. You can keep your caterpillar and watch it turn into a butterfly!

Go through the Life Cycle of a Butterfly

Fill in the life cycle of a butterfly.

Look at some of the places the Butterfly could have visited at the end of the story: The Adventures of the Beautiful Butterfly. If you were to make a sequel to the story what would the butterfly do next? Think of as many different ideas of what the butterfly could have done next as you can. 

What did the caterpillar eat on the different days? Matching Days/Food.

Look at the Healthy Eating Sorting Game and fill in today's section of the Food Diary. 

Make a pattern with your fruit kebab caterpillar. 

Recap what the caterpillar ate on the different day: Matching Days/Food.

Can you sequence and match the days and the food correctly together? Match the days of the week to the correct food.

Go on a caterpillar hunt outside. Keep your caterpillar and watch it turn into a butterfly!

Wellbeing Wednesday

Reception, on Wellbeing Wednesday you can take a break from your computers and devices and take part in lots of fun, different activities outside or around your home.

This afternoon, complete these mindfulness activities:

You could also go for a walk in your local area. What did you notice on your walk? Did you see any animals or notice any changes to any of the trees or wildlife?

You may want to help your family with any chores around the house. You could tidy your room or help with folding clothes away or washing up.

Why not help your family to prepare and make a healthy dinner or bake something delicious in the afternoon!
