Marvellous Maths in Reception
This week in Reception, we learnt about the composition and formation of numbers 1, 2 and 3. The children completed a variety of activities, such as counting different objects and matching them to the corresponding numbers. During our carpet inputs we used Ten Town to practice the rhymes used to write each number. The children then practised forming these numbers.

Ten Town Number Formation Rhymes
Activities:
Vanessa: " There's 3 chairs"
Farzaan: " 1,2,3"
Anu: " I think number 2 is going to win!"
Jason: " Over one hand, over the other”
Levi: "1 is winning"
Albie: “ Tommy 2 is going to win”
Key Vocabulary
Number, 1, 2, 3, count, top to toe, hands round to knees then straight across, over one hand over the next
