 Learning Theme: Pirates

Outdoor learning


The children have had lots of fun outdoors with our new water play area.They have been exploring the magnetic wall and working together to learn how to use the water pump. The children have been using water in many different ways within their play.

Pirates


This week we continued our last theme of the term; PIRATES! The children have been practicing pirate action songs, collecting treasure, creating small world stories and going on pirate treasure hunts in the garden. Yo ho ho, way to go Broadford nursery!

Sports Hall Fun



We all had lots of fun practicing our gross motor skills in the sports hall this week. We have been learning how to use the equipment safely. The children enjoyed climbing over gymnastics equipment, crawling through tunnels, balancing on planks and jumping safely using two feet.

SHAPE Activity (Wellbeing Curriculum)


SHAPE Activity Focus: PHYSICAL


We have been learning about Cooking, nutrition, eating five different colours of food every day, drinking water, developing physical strength and maintaining good wellbeing (yoga, walking, running, sleeping, breathing and being still, and personal hygiene).

This week the children have been harvesting the radishes they planted, exploring how they taste.

  • Tuesday 06th July: Pirate dress up day

  • Wednesday 07th July: Return all reading books

  • Monday 12th July: Nursery Sports Day 

  • Friday 16th July: End of year reports sent home

  • Thursday 22nd July: Last day of the nursery

  • Friday 23rd July: INSET day (nursery and school closed)
