Outdoor learning

The children have had lots of fun learning in the garden. They have been exploring the den area to discover items they can use to support their play.

“We did it! Look, now he has arms, legs, hair and a happy face.”

Elyssa

Learning is Fun

The children have continued developing their fine motor skills this week. We have been strengthening the muscles in our hands through interventions like dough disco (using playdough), connecting puzzle pieces, using scissors, marking our names and most importantly; having fun whilst we learn through play.

Pirates

This week we started our last theme of the term; PIRATES! The children have been learning new pirate action songs, investigating pirate mysteries, playing games and creating with a variety of resources in the art area. Yo Ho Ho, it’s a pirate’s life for us at Broadford nursery.

“I like when the pirate jumps at me, it’s funny” said Noah

“We’re gonna sail away, just like the pirates”

 said Ameera

Rosie asked Noah:

“Do you like my pirate ship?”

Dress up day

On Monday the Nursery children were asked to dress up in white and red to represent Denmark as part of the school's Euro 2021 event day.  We all had lots of fun learning about English football, different countries in the tournament and playing football in the garden.

SHAPE Activity (Wellbeing Curriculum)

SHAPE Activity Focus: ATTITUDE

We have been learning about growing, and spreading positivity, optimism, resourcefulness, resilience, and grit. This week the children have been  supporting one another during play, developing each other's ideas, offering encouragement and praise towards their peers.

Harry offered to help Noah do up his zip

Millen, Alfie and Lucas investigated the Mystery of the broken basket. They searched for clues, building on each other's ideas to conclude…
