Friday

Look at the Number Line to 20. Choose a number and begin counting from that number. Repeat for different numbers to 20.

Using large blocks, roll a dice. Build a tower containing that many blocks. Roll the dice again. Add that many blocks to the first tower. First we had a tower of _ blocks. Then we added _ more. How many blocks do we have now? How do you know? Look at the Part whole model and make the number sentence. Repeat with different amounts.

First there were 2 children on the bus. Then 2 more children got on the bus. How many are on the bus now? Use your fingers to work out the answer and look at the Part Whole Model and 10 frame. Use the 10 frame and repeat the story with different amounts. Find out the answers using your fingers, part whole model and the ten frame.

Use a number line to 10. Repeat the bus stories and use the Number Line

to move the counters and solve the sum. Use different coloured counters to count on and solve the addition sums. Repeat with different amounts.

Use the part whole model and counters. Use the counters to solve the addition sum using the Part Whole Model. Repeat with different amounts. Write the number sentences. Count on each time and solve the sums.

Roll a dice and lay out that many objects, then roll the dice again and lay out the objects. How many objects are there altogether? How did you work out the total? Write a number sentence for each sum. Repeat the game with the Part Whole Model and write the number sentences each time.

Wellbeing Wednesday

Reception, on Wellbeing Wednesday you can take a break from your computers and devices and take part in lots of fun, different activities outside or around your home.

This afternoon, complete these mindfulness activities:

Have your own Lego competition and build something awesome using Lego!

You could also go for a walk in your local area. What did you notice on your walk? Did you see any animals or notice any changes to any of the trees or wildlife?

You may want to help your family with any chores around the house. You could tidy your room or help with folding clothes away or washing up.

Why not help your family to prepare and make a healthy dinner or bake something delicious in the afternoon!

We hope you enjoy taking part in Wellbeing Wednesday.

Please let us know what you got up to and share your learning with us!

Please email us at eyfs@broadford.havering.sch.uk to contact a member of the Reception Team. Please submit work using a Parent Postcard on Evidence Me. Keep checking the Broadford More Blogs page EYFS Blog Page and Facebook page for updates.

Best wishes

The Reception Team
