Wellbeing Wednesday

Reception, on Wellbeing Wednesday you can take a break from your computers and devices and take part in lots of fun, different activities outside or around your home.

This afternoon, complete these mindfulness activities:

Think about how you are feeling this afternoon. Which words would you use to describe how you are feeling? Can you draw a picture to show how you are feeling? Do you feel any differently now that you have drawn your picture? Draw a picture of how you feel now!

You could also go for a walk in your local area. What did you notice on your walk? Did you see any animals or notice any changes to any of the trees or wildlife?

You may want to help your family with any chores around the house. You could tidy your room or help with folding clothes away or washing up.

Why not help your family to prepare and make a healthy dinner or bake something delicious in the afternoon!

We hope you enjoy taking part in Wellbeing Wednesday.

Please let us know what you got up to and share your learning with us!

Numeracy

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Thursday

Friday

Look at the Number 18.

Look at the different ways you can make 18.

Can you write your numbers from 0-18?

Make the number 18 using two amounts of objects from around your home. Write up all the addition number sentences you can find.

Listen to the

Doubling Rap:

Doubles Doubles (I Can Add Doubles!)    (song for kids about adding doubles 1-5)

Double means ‘twice as many’. Go through Doubling.

Try to double using two cubes, or 2 real life objects.

Go on a doubling hunt around your home.  Make doubles using cubes and real life objects around the home.

Work with a partner in your home. Can they hold up their fingers and can you hold up  yours to make the match to double the amount they are showing.  Work with your partner by holding up fingers and your partner matches you to make double.

Go through the  Doubling Ladybirds.

Can you double the ladybird spots?

Use cubes/pebbles/other objects around your home to show one amount can your partner match it to make double?

Work with your partner at home, sit opposite each other, your partner needs to make an amount with pebbles/cubes /real life objects around the home and partner 2 makes double.

Use cubes, numicon and real life objects around your home to build doubles with your partner.

Half means splitting objects into 2 equal groups. For example halving a strip of paper or shape in two. Go through Halving. Go through the shapes and draw the shapes on paper or a whiteboard and half them.

With other family members split into 2 unequal groups and take part in a relay race around your home/garden/park. It takes longer for one team to finish than another. Why does the smaller team keep winning? Is it fair? Now try to create 2 equal teams with your family so the races are fair.
