Dear Parents and Carers,
Today is polling day and whilst your children are not in nursery, here are a few learning activities which you may wish to engage with at home.
Current Theme: Minibeasts

Nursery Rhyme | Eency Weency Spider Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MXzCD8IAcE
Lyrics: The eency weency spider Went up the water spout, fingers imitate a moving spider Down came the rain and washed the spider out fingers imitate falling rain Out came the sun and dried up all the rain arms make a large circle And the eency weency spider went up the spout again fingers imitate a moving spider. |

Minibeast Hunt | Whilst the weather is dry it gives a great opportunity to go for a walk outside, whether that be in your own garden or to a local park.
Here are a few ideas for activities:
Understanding the World: Can you find a minibeast? What does it look like? Where does it live?
Maths: How many legs/ wings does your minibeast have? Can you use your fingers to show this?
Mark making: Try drawing a picture of the minibeast you found and get your adult to help you label the different parts! Challenge: Can you write your own name on your paper?
Physical: How does the minibeast move, can you try move like this?
If you do go to the park it may be a great opportunity for your child to develop their gross motor skills in the play area by climbing, running and pulling themselves up on the equipment. |
We hope you have a lovely day and look forward to seeing you back in nursery on Friday. Please be aware that you are welcome to send your child in non-uniform this Friday 7th May as the older year groups will be celebrating Rock Stars (this is optional).
Kind regards,
The Nursery Team
