This week our home learning will be based around the story ‘Superkid’ and Keeping Healthy.

Good Morning Reception - Monday 1st March 2021

Please check the updated daily timetable for our live sessions this week and whole school assemblies.Join Mrs Nicholls for our Monday assembly at 2:00pm. Join the Reception team at 2:30pm for our end of day story. We have our 5 daily sessions for you to enjoy today. Our weekly red word spellings for Spring 2 week 2 are ready to look, read, cover or display and write! 

We have updated our RWI Virtual School. There are now 5 groups and please email eyfs@broadford.havering.sch.uk if you are unsure of your child’s group. You have unlimited access to our favourite exercise and brain break session, 5 a day tv. You can access exciting dance routines and chilled out meditations. 

Reception Home Learning Timetable

Please see the timetable below for Reception home learning sessions and timings. Families can decide the best times for these to take place. However we recommend that the children only sit and work for half an hour  at a time. Younger children can find it harder to concentrate for longer periods of time. It is recommended to have breaks between the sessions.

Maths (30 minutes) Number Representations and formation 10-15 Recap. Revise the numbers you may have found tricky in the previous sessions. BBC Counting Songs Number Formation with Mrs Gradley All about number 10   All about number 11 All about number 12  All about number 13 All about number 14 All about number 15  One Less Game with Mrs Gradley  Play More or Less Reasoning  Challenge:  How can you represent  or  draw the teen numbers  using  stars or stick people? Can you make five number bonds ? For example, 9+ 6= 15, 11+3=14, 5+5=10  Use a part-whole model diagram to show your number bonds. Top Tip: You can use objects, dots or write the number sentence! Topic (30 minutes) Watch Miss Hurrell's lesson Read the story and go through the Vocab Slides. The Evil Pea has written a ransom note and captured the Carrots!  Can you rescue the Carrots from the Evil Pea?  Challenge: Reply to the Evil Pea’s ransom note and help rescue the Carrots! Red Words Spelling Test

Each week we will be adding 5 red words for your child to practice spelling. We will upload the weekly spelling test video every Friday. Please help your child to practice reading and writing the spelling words.  Click here for a blank spelling worksheet.

Challenge: Write a sentence using each spelling word and send it to your class teacher.

In Apple class...

Apple class have been working super hard this week!  Parisa, Andreea, Jessica and Nyasa made delicious fruit smoothies. They tasted and cut the fruit and helped to make the fruit smoothies. Andreea and Jessica designed their own superhero costumes. Jessica worked on her Reading and Writing and estimated objects in Maths. Nyasa decided that the superhero she would be was Ladybug Hero. She designed her superhero costume and chose her name. Chloe designed her own superhero costume. Cruz and Ivan worked hard to make their names using lego. Nyasa used wooden blocks to write her name and Robyn used playdough. Robyn thought about what made her super and wrote a brilliant sentence. Lily made beautiful pictures of her mum and dad. Toni wrote the number 15 and counted numbers 1-15. She also worked hard on her Reading and Writing and spelt three letter words. Parisa worked on her number bonds to 20.  Sonny worked hard on his letter and number formation. Well done Apple class for all your brilliant work this week!

Excellent work has been happening at home this week.

has been working hard on his topic writing and enjoying long walks in the park.

Adarsh has worked hard learning how to subtract and topic writing too.

Aryaan has been busy completing his rainbow science experiment and completing his

new RWI virtual sessions.

Batool had lots of fun in the half term and enjoyed painting.

Nikita has been working super hard on his special friends phonic sounds.

Emmalee has been working hard using her phonics to complete the

phonic cards.

Ayana has been working hard on her special friend sounds too!

Anna has had some fun playing in her treehouse...it’s not a box! 

Maya has been super busy this week cooking, playing outside and making her

fabulous picture.

In Alder class...

Alder class have been working hard this week. Ksenija designed her own superhero costume and chose a name for her superhero. She also worked hard estimating objects up to twenty in Maths. Adalind worked hard practising her letter formation. Oscar worked hard to bake a delicious chocolate challah bread. Anya made a beautiful drawing of her friend. Torsten created his own superhero and designed a superhero costume. Callissya made her super self. She chose her super power as speed because she knows she's already super at sharing and being kind! Tesha, read a story as a Masked Reader, well done Tesha. Pippa wrote what makes her super, it is when she looks after her dog Monty! Maiyaa made a tasty fruit smoothie. Bella-Rose made a delicious pancake and made her name using different objects from around her house. Adam wrote a sentence describing what makes him super. Ite designed a superhero costume and wrote what makes him super. Well done Alder class for all your brilliant work this week!
