This week our home learning will be based around the story ‘On Sudden Hill’.

Good Morning Reception - Monday 8th February 2021

Please check the updated daily timetable for our live sessions this week and whole school assemblies.Join Mrs Nicholls for our Monday assembly at 2:00pm. Join the Reception team at 2:30pm for our end of day story. We have our 5 daily sessions for you to enjoy today. Our weekly red word spellings are ready to look, read, cover and write! You have unlimited access to our favourite exercise and brain break session, 5 a day tv. You can access exciting dance routines and chilled out meditations. Join Mrs Gradley for Maths, Miss Hurrell for Topic and remember to have lots of fun and games too!

Reception Home Learning Timetable

Please see the timetable below for Reception home learning sessions and timings. Families can decide the best times for these to take place. However we recommend that the children only sit and work for half an hour  at a time. Younger children can find it harder to concentrate for longer periods of time. It is recommended to have breaks between the sessions.

This week, the Reception children will be having one to one reading sessions. Please click here for your child’s time slot and day. These will be at different times to normal weekly reading sessions.

A link to the meeting will be posted on the Google Classroom stream just beforehand.

Please make sure your child is ready for their one to one session. They do not need to bring anything to the session except their listening ears and magnet eyes. We will be sharing our screen with the children for them to read. The Keyworker Group will complete the task at school.

Maths (30 minutes) BBC Counting Songs Number Formation with Mrs Gradley Look through the slides and find out all about the number 15.   and complete the number 15 worksheet. Challenge:  How can you represent  or  draw the number 15  using  15 stars or stick people? Can you make five number bonds to 15? For example, 9+ 6= 15. Use a part-whole model diagram to show your number bonds. Top Tip: You can use objects, dots or write the number sentence!	Session 3
Topic (30 minutes) Watch Miss Hurrell's Lesson. Read or listen to the story On Sudden Hill and go through the vocab slides Vocab Slides. Look at the picture of the characters climbing over the fence. Why do they have two boxes? What might they do with them? What have you made from a box before? How did you make it?   Challenge: Explore boxes at home. Red Words Spelling Test

Each week we will be adding 5 red words for your child to practice spelling. We will upload the weekly spelling test video every Friday. Please help your child to practice reading and writing the spelling words.  Click here for a blank spelling worksheet.

Challenge: Write a sentence using each spelling word and send it to your class teacher.
