Nursery: Home Learning Friday 26th February 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Spring 2; Week 1 Theme: Engineers Week

Today’s learning includes:

  • Story

  • Activity

  • Daily Challenge

  • Physical Development

Our daily activities will reflect the adult led learning that would have taken place in nursery so it is important that your child engages with this learning in addition to CHILD-LED PLAY

We will be responding to Evidence Me Parent Shares each week to see how your child is getting on at home.

Story: Machines on the Move, with Miss Cumming

Click here to watch the story.

Activity: Silly Soup Rhyming words and Initial Sounds Extension

Join in with Silly Soup today. Miss Cumming has made silly soup looking at rhyming words with the ‘an’ sound. Get a bowl and spoon to join in here.

Extension: Ready for another rhyming silly soup? Join Miss Cumming with rhyming words that have the ‘ig’ sound here.

Need more challenge?

If your child is feeling very confident with identifying rhyming words, they may wish to join in with this initial sounds activity focussing on /s/. If they are still learning rhyming words and getting to understand them keep the focus on other rhyming games rather than moving them onto initial sounds.

Daily Challenge

Can you find a pulley in your own home? How might you make one?
