Superkid

This week our home learning will be based around the story ‘Superkid’ and Keeping Healthy.

Good Morning Reception -  Wednesday 24th February 2021

Please check the updated daily timetable for our live sessions this week and whole school assemblies.Join the Reception team at 10:00am for our live session. We have our 5 daily sessions for you to enjoy today. Our weekly red word spellings for Spring 2 week 1 are ready to look, read, cover or display and write! We will be revisiting our previous spellings for consolidation. We have updated our RWI Virtual School. There are now 5 groups and a member of the Reception Team will contact you with regards to your child’s group. You have unlimited access to our favourite exercise and brain break session, 5 a day tv. You can access exciting dance routines and chilled out meditations. Join Mrs Gradley for Maths, Miss Hurrell for Topic and remember to have lots of fun and games too!

Reception Home Learning Timetable

Please see the timetable below for Reception home learning sessions and timings. Families can decide the best times for these to take place. However we recommend that the children only sit and work for half an hour  at a time. Younger children can find it harder to concentrate for longer periods of time. It is recommended to have breaks between the sessions.

Maths (30 minutes) Numbers to 20 & One Less Game  BBC Counting Songs Watch: Ordering Numbers 0-15 Maths with Mrs Gradley (Yesterday’s video) Make your own estimation game  Estimation Game Fill cups, containers, bowls or any other container you may have at home with objects up to 20.  (Pasta, cereal, Lego bricks, coins, beads, buttons)  Estimate how many objects are in each bowl. Then check and count! Was your estimation a sensible guess? Did you Guess correctly?  Challenge  Can you make an estimation game? You will need:  plastic cups, bowls or other containers and objects to fill your containers? Ask members of your household to help,  estimate how many? Then count and check!	Session 3
Topic (30 minutes) Watch Miss Hurrell's Lesson Turn yourself into a superhero. What is your superhero name? Challenge: Draw and label yourself with your superhero costume and your superhero name.   Well-being Wednesday:  Part of being super is being able to look after yourself and keep yourself and your body healthy. Red Words Spelling Test

Each week we will be adding 5 red words for your child to practice spelling. We will upload the weekly spelling test video every Friday. Please help your child to practice reading and writing the spelling words.  Click here for a blank spelling worksheet.

Challenge: Write a sentence using each spelling word and send it to your class teacher.
