Nursery: Home Learning Thursday 4th February 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Spring 1; Week 3 Theme: National Storytelling Week

Today’s learning includes:

  • A choice of two stories

  • Activity

  • Daily Challenge

  • Physical Development

Our daily activities will reflect the adult led learning that would have taken place in nursery so it is important that your child engages with this learning in addition to CHILD-LED PLAY

We will be responding to Evidence Me Parent Shares each week to see how your child is getting on at home.

Story 1: Cheeky Monkey, with Mrs Chisholm

Click here to watch the story.

Story 2: Bathtime for Little Rabbit, with Miss St Louis (105 book- let us know if you read this)

Click here to watch the story.

Activity

Phonics: The Ginger Bread Man, with Mrs Ngenge.

Tune into the rhythm of the language and the rhyming words. Encourage your child to join in with repetitive phrases such as Run, run, as fast as you can, You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man.

Daily Challenge

How fast can you run? After reading the Ginger Bread Man we learnt how speedy he was at running. Now it is your turn to see how fast you can run when your in a safe space outside.

We understand that home learning is not the norm so take each day as it comes; if you are feeling overwhelmed at this time remember we are here to speak to. One of the best things during this time is to keep your child's usual routine for getting up, meal times and bedtime. Exercise is important for us all so wrapping up warm, getting outside in the fresh air also makes a big difference to our mental health.

The Nursery Team
